Japan Needs to Clarify All Selection Criteria

Japan Needs to Clarify All Selection Criteria
Discussion
There has been a great deal of talk about the selection process for high schools.

In Japan, there has always been a strong sense of homogeneity in the selection process.

I think it's time for that to come to an end.

This is not to say that the data-first approach of the U.S. is a good idea (or rather, that it is inevitable in the U.S., which is racially and ideologically diverse and has low homogeneity). (Or rather, in the U.S., where the population is racially and ideologically diverse and less homogeneous, it is inevitable.)

However, it is becoming more and more difficult to make the selection process too opaque.

It would be better to set the points for the selection process, use a point system, and disclose the scores of the judges (or A, B, C, etc. if it is not appropriate to use their names) so that at least a third party can verify the results, although there may be various opinions.

I think this is true not only for baseball, but for this kind of selection process in general.
